LEONORA CREMA is Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of British Columbia Library. She is also Co-Ordinator for the UBC Scholarly Publication Fund and UBC Open Access Fund, each a joint initiative with the Provost and VP Research & Innovation, UBC Vancouver.

From 2006-2015, Crema served as UBC’s Associate University Librarian for Client Services & Programs, as AUL for Planning and Community Relations, and as Director, External Relations, for the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre. Prior to this she held management roles spanning public services, project management, and IT.

Active in professional associations, including serving as President of the British Columbia Library Association, Crema speaks regularly on topics such as leadership, technology innovation and library space design. She has been involved in the programmatic design or construction of three library buildings on the UBC campus including the Walter C. Koerner Library, the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre and a high-density storage and preservation facility.

Crema has received a variety of career recognitions including a national award for innovation from the Canadian Association of University Business Officers, and the Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries’ award for outstanding contributions to the consortium.  She holds Master of Arts and Master of Library Science degrees from the University of British Columbia.
